The role

Your responsibilities will include providing supervision, leadership and motivation to assigned crews, predominantly with an asphalt/ roads focus, to facilitate an efficient, safe and cooperative team approach and an equitable, harmonious and productive workplace. You will ensure staff members are appropriately trained, develop work programs, allocate resources, prioritise customer requests, and apply your technical expertise to develop a range of solutions relating to maintenance issues when required.


Requirements

To be successful in this role hold a Certificate III in Civil Construction or Civil Construction Plant Operations and have experience in asphalt works, including flocon and pavement repairs, and the demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a work team. You will have the numeracy, written and verbal communication skills sufficient to undertake the administrative duties of the role, and exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.

Work Location

Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council’s work locations with notice. Council currently has depots located at Arana Hills, Bribie Island, Burpengary, Dayboro, Deception Bay, Caboolture, Margate, Petrie, Samford, Woodford and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
